Dr. Eve-Sarai Niedergesaess
Dr. Eve, the heart and soul of Lakeview Optometry, is not your typical optometrist. With a deep-rooted passion for eye care, she has spent years honing her skills and expertise. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Dr. Eve's journey in optometry began at the University of Calgary, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She pursued her dream by attending the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating Magnum Cum Laude with both academic and clinical honors in 2014. Since then, Dr. Eve has become a trusted figure in Slave Lake, providing compassionate, thorough eye exams to patients of all ages. Beyond the clinic, she's a loving mom and a nature enthusiast, often found tending to her garden or unwinding by the lake.

Maureen Statham
OFFICE MANAGER
Maureen Statham has been the backbone of Lakeview Optometry since she joined us on September 1, 2012, making her our most seasoned team member—even before Dr. Eve! Maureen’s favorite part of her job is the small-town chit-chat with our patients. She often likens the front office to a cozy coffee house, filled with friendly conversations. Maureen finds the medical testing we do fascinating and sees it as an opportunity to continually learn about eye health. Her empathy and genuine interest in our patients' lives make every interaction special because, as she says, "You never know what you will see, or what people are going through."
Maureen is essential to our smooth operations, expertly managing the office and staff with a compassionate touch. Her in-depth knowledge of lens designs and optics makes her our go-to person for helping patients find the perfect lenses. Proficient in every aspect of the daily running of the office, Maureen is known for her compassion and understanding with patients. Outside of work, Maureen loves spending time with her family, especially her daughters. She enjoys outdoor activities like gardening in her greenhouse, boating trips, and socializing with friends and family at every opportunity.

Hailey Bowie
OPTICIAN
Hailey Bowie joined the Lakeview Optometry team in September 2021 and has been a delightful addition ever since. Hailey completed her Optician Program at NAIT and earned her licensing. We are so happy to have her on the team! She loves helping our patients find the perfect frames that boost their confidence.
Known for her excellent multitasking skills and ability to handle challenging situations with ease, Hailey always lifts the office mood with her bright and funny personality.

Darice Laughy
CERTIFIED OCULAR HYGIENIST & OPTOMETRIST'S ASSISTANT
Darice Laughy joined Lakeview Optometry in April 2022 after a fulfilling career in childcare. She's cross-trained in many areas of the office, but she truly shines in preliminary testing.
Darice enjoys working with our team, meeting new people, and constantly learning about eye health. As a mom to two boys, she balances her professional life with family time on their farm, where she works alongside her husband and sons. In her free time, Darice loves diving into a good book and dancing the night away.

OPTOMETRIST'S ASSISTANT
Bryn is an animal lover and has two dogs of her own, Molson and Ollie. She loves camping and boating around Slave Lake in the summer. She has a diploma in Medical Esthetics from the European Institute of Esthetics.
Bryn offers dry eye treatments and medical esthetics treatments.
